Quick answer
Start with the All About Preschoolers, 2nd Edition - 2 Book Set if you need the core curriculum and already have classroom materials. Choose the All About Preschoolers Super Set when you want the books, posters, and manipulatives in one package. The All About Preschoolers Curriculum Resource Set adds the print-rich support materials for classrooms that need everything ready to display.
When the two-book set is enough
The 2nd Edition two-volume set gives you the full curriculum written by Debby Cryer and Cathy Riley, with more than 650 pages that meet ECERS-R standards. It is the most budget-friendly way to get the teaching plans, but it does not include the weekly posters or the resource manipulatives. If your classroom already has a stocked art area, a print-rich environment, and a plan for displaying weekly lessons, this set covers the instructional core without duplicating materials you own.
What the Super Set adds and who should pay for it
The Super Set bundles the two-volume teacher's guide, the weekly posters, and the resource manipulative set. That combination is helpful for a new classroom or a teacher who is switching to this curriculum and does not want to source display materials separately. The trade-off is cost: the Super Set is a larger upfront purchase, so it makes the most sense when you need all three components at once rather than already owning some of them.
The Resource Set is for print-rich classrooms, not a standalone curriculum
The Curriculum Resource Set contains published support materials sorted by unit, such as News of the Day Charts, Journal Booklets, Classroom Rules Poster, Lyric Charts, Math Charts, Lacing Cards, and picture word sequencing cards. It is not a replacement for the teacher's guide; it is an add-on for classrooms that want display-ready materials without creating them from scratch. If you already have the 2nd Edition and need to fill walls and centers quickly, this set saves preparation time. If you are starting from zero, buy the Super Set first because it includes the guide and the core display pieces.
Decision rules for choosing your version
- You already own the teacher's guide: Buy the Weekly Calendar Posters or the Curriculum Resource Set instead of another full curriculum. The posters give you the 18 weekly plans in display format, and the Resource Set adds unit-sorted print materials. Check your storage before ordering duplicates.
- You are new to the curriculum and need everything: Choose the Super Set. It includes the two-volume guide, the weekly posters, and the resource manipulative set, so you are not hunting for missing pieces mid-year. Confirm that your budget can cover the full bundle before committing.
- You have a tight budget but need the core plans: Start with the 2nd Edition two-book set. It gives you the full curriculum and ECERS-R alignment, and you can add posters or resource materials later as funds allow. Plan a mid-year add-on if wall displays are required by your program.
- You need to fill walls and centers quickly: Add the Curriculum Resource Set to your existing guide. It includes News of the Day Charts, Journal Booklets, Classroom Rules Poster, Lyric Charts, Math Charts, Lacing Cards, and picture word sequencing cards, all sorted by unit. This set is not a substitute for the teacher's guide; pair it with the 2nd Edition.
