The sixteen pegs are the perfect size for little hands, and my 14-month-old stays busy pulling them out and matching the colors for ages. The wood has a nice smooth finish too, no rough edges even after a few tumbles off the table.

The pegs are chunky enough for little hands to grab, and my 14-month-old actually gets them onto the posts instead of just chewing them. I like that the height sorting makes it grow with him — right now he just stacks, but the matching part will come later.

My 18-month-old figured out the height sorting before the shapes, which surprised me. The sixteen pegs fit snugly in their holes without wobbling, though a couple of the tighter slots take some wiggling to get in.
